Mr. Don Miguel Ruiz managed to approach love and relationship in his book "The Mastery of Love" with a perspective that is so fresh and open the eyes to new possibilities. The author also reveals the differences between relationships that are based on love with those based on fear.

Don Miguel Ruiz teaches the transforming power of self-love through his parable and direct suggestions. In his book "The Mastery of Love" he tells that all relationships start with you, and how you feel about yourself. What a true love requires is self love, which is lacked by most of us.
Don Miguel compares an ideal relationship to to one that we have with our pet like a dog. The relationship with our dog is perfect as we are getting what we exactly expecting from him. Yet we tend not to accept our partner as they are, we always expect them to be different, to act in ways they don't do it naturally. That is what makes us unhappy about them. The author says that we don't accept this person truly we say we love because we are simply no t accepting ourselves.
"The Mastery of Love" tells that human hunt for love as we don't have it within ourselves. We hunt for love from other humans who also don't love themselves and are also on the love hunt. Which makes us upset and surprised that we do not get the exact love we need from them, and they feel the same about us. So true! Other people don't have the love we need, only we do.
